These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and MK Ideas ("we", "us") for the Cruise Weather app and this website (together, "Cruise Weather"). By using Cruise Weather, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Cruise Weather. If you got the app from the App Store, that store's terms also apply. If the two conflict, the store's terms win where they have to.
1. Use of the App
Please don't misuse the service: no scraping or automated bulk lookups, no attempts to get around purchases, limits or security, and no reselling of our data. We may limit or block abusive use.
2. What's Free and What You Buy
Finding your cruise and seeing its ports, dates, sunrise and sunset, port time alerts and weather at home is free.
The forecasts for a cruise are unlocked with a one-time in-app purchase per cruise:
- Daily and hourly weather for each port and sea day
- Weather for your hours ashore
- "Bring today" tips
- Typical weather for far-off days
- Offline saving
One purchase covers that trip, including back-to-back sailings on the same trip and the days before and after it that the app shows. The price is shown in the app before you buy and may change over time. There is no subscription and nothing renews.
Purchases are made through the App Store and are charged to your store account. A purchase unlocks one cruise; it can't be moved to a different cruise.
3. Refunds
Apple processes all payments, so refund requests go to Apple, and its refund policy applies. MK Ideas can't issue refunds directly. See how to ask for a refund.
4. Weather Is for Information Only
Forecasts come from Apple Weather and typical weather comes from NASA POWER historical averages. Weather is uncertain by nature: forecasts change, can be wrong, and "typical" weather is an average, not a prediction. Sea-day weather is estimated from nearby locations, not the ship's actual position.
Do not use Cruise Weather to make safety, health, medical, marine or navigation decisions. Follow the instructions of your ship's crew, your cruise line, and official weather and emergency services.
5. Itineraries May Be Wrong
We find itineraries automatically from publicly available information, using an AI model that searches the web. Results can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and cruise lines change ports and times, sometimes at the last minute. Always check your cruise documents and your cruise line's app or website for ports, dates, times and all-aboard times. You can correct any day in the app.
6. Your Data
Your trips and home ZIP code are stored on your phone, and weather you've already downloaded stays on your phone. See our Privacy Policy for exactly what the app sends.
7. No Affiliation
Cruise Weather is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any cruise line. Cruise line and ship names are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify sailings. Apple Weather is a trademark of Apple Inc.
8. Changes and Availability
We work hard to keep Cruise Weather running, but it may sometimes be unavailable, and features or data sources may change. Weather you've already downloaded stays on your phone.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
Cruise Weather is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including that the weather or itinerary information is accurate, complete or timely, or that the app will be error-free.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for missed excursions, missed departures, travel costs or other losses that come from relying on weather or itinerary information. Our total liability for any claim about Cruise Weather is limited to the amount you paid for the cruise purchase the claim relates to, or US$10 if you paid nothing. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. If we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and using Cruise Weather after that means you accept the new Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where your local consumer law says otherwise.
13. App Store Terms
If you downloaded Cruise Weather from Apple's App Store: these Terms are between you and us, not Apple; Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance; Apple is not responsible for any product claims; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them. Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies.
