It helps to include your phone model, the cruise line, ship and sail date, and (for purchase questions) your store order number.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does Cruise Weather find my cruise?
Tap Find my cruise, pick your cruise line, ship and sail date. Our server looks up that sailing's published itinerary (ports, dates and times) using an AI model that searches the web, then shows you the result to check. If someone has already looked up the same sailing, you get it instantly.
Cruise Weather currently looks up sailings for 17 cruise lines. The search only uses the line, ship and date. It never includes anything about you.
What's free, and what does the purchase add?
Free: your ports and dates, sunrise and sunset, port time alerts and weather at home.
Weather for your cruise (one purchase per cruise, no subscription): daily and hourly forecasts for every port and sea day, weather for your hours ashore, "Bring today" tips, typical weather for far-off days that switches to the live forecast within 10 days, and offline saving for use at sea. The sample trip lets you try all of it before you buy.
Why does it say "typical" weather?
Forecasts are only reliable about 10 days out. For days further away, Cruise Weather shows what the weather is usually like at that port in that month, based on NASA historical data. As each day comes within 10 days, it switches to the live Apple Weather forecast automatically.
My cruise wasn't found. What can I do?
- Double-check the ship and the sail date (the day you board) against your cruise documents.
- Very new, chartered or recently changed sailings may not be published online yet. Try again in a few days.
- If it still isn't found, or the result doesn't match your documents, choose to enter it yourself and add each day's port. It takes a minute, and you'll still get weather for every day.
- Tell us the line, ship and date at support@mkideas.net and we'll take a look.
A port or date is wrong, or my port changed
Open that day in your trip and change the port, or make it a sea day. Your weather updates right away. Cruise lines do change ports, sometimes during the cruise, so always check your cruise documents and the ship's daily program.
Your correction also helps other travellers on the same sailing. It's sent without anything about you.
I'm doing back-to-back cruises or staying before and after
One purchase covers your whole trip: back-to-back sailings and the hotel or travel days before and after the cruise. Where the cruise line publishes back-to-back sailings together, the lookup finds them together. If yours shows only one sailing, email us the line, ship and dates and we'll help.
How do I restore a purchase on a new phone?
Install Cruise Weather, look up the same cruise, then tap Restore a purchase on the unlock screen. Use the same Apple Account you bought with. There's no Cruise Weather account to sign in to.
Still locked? Email us your App Store order number and the cruise, and we'll sort it out.
How do I get a refund?
The App Store handles all payments, so refunds are requested from Apple:
- iPhone: go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find Cruise Weather, and choose Request a refund.
If something went wrong with your weather, please email us too. We'd like to fix it.
Is there a subscription?
No. Each cruise is a single purchase. Nothing renews and nothing is charged later.
Does it work at sea without Wi-Fi?
Yes. Open your trip once while you have a connection (at home, at the terminal, or in port) and the weather for every day is saved on your phone. At sea it shows the last weather it downloaded. When you're back online, even briefly in port, open the app to get the latest forecast.
What are the port time alerts?
When your next port is in a different time zone, Cruise Weather shows a banner between days with the time difference. Times in the app are local port time. The ship may keep its own time, so always confirm all-aboard and excursion times with the ship's daily program.
Can I rely on the weather for safety decisions?
No. Cruise Weather is for planning what to wear and do. For anything safety-related, follow your ship's crew and official weather services.
What do you know about me?
Almost nothing. There's no account, no ads and no tracking. Your trips and home ZIP stay on your phone. Read the Privacy Policy for exactly what the app sends.
Is Cruise Weather made by a cruise line?
No. Cruise Weather is an independent app by MK Ideas and isn't affiliated with any cruise line. Cruise line and ship names are trademarks of their owners.
